A warm brown body — earthy, settled, the color of Machakos soil in dry season. Then the handles arrive and do something unexpected. White and black sisal wound together in a spiral, so the two colors twist around each other all the way up. Not striped, not alternating — spiraled, which is a different kind of making entirely and produces a handle that looks like it belongs on a more complicated object.

The contrast between the two parts is the whole point. The body is simple and warm. The handles are graphic and precise. Together they make a basket that rewards a second look — you see the brown first and then you notice what's holding it.

Countertop sizing — 10" x 5". The basket that earns its place on a surface rather than just occupying it.

Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Keep from prolonged moisture. Each basket is unique — the spiral on the handles will wind at its own pace in every piece, because the tension in a hand-twisted spiral is never mechanically identical.
