The Mukima

Four equal sections. Pink, grey, light blue, yellow — each one holding exactly the same amount of space, which is a structural decision as much as a color one. Equal weight, equal presence, no hierarchy. The bag doesn't have a dominant color because it was never trying to.

Then the straps. Braided orange leather — not flat, not plain, braided — which means the strap itself is a continuation of the craft logic rather than a functional afterthought. The orange picks up the warmth in the pink and the yellow without matching either of them exactly, sitting between the two ends of the bag like a warm thread running through a cool palette.

Mukima. Named after the highlands of central Kenya, where the air is cooler and the colors of the landscape shift in layers — which is exactly what this bag does.

Braided sisal construction throughout. This is not the standard weave — braiding requires a different hand, a different rhythm, and produces a surface with more texture and more depth than a flat weave. 12" x 12". The largest format in the range, worn on the shoulder, carrying everything.

Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Keep from prolonged moisture, store somewhere dry. Each bag is unique — four dye colors across braided sisal means four separate variations happening simultaneously in every piece.
