The Floral Appliqué
Most baskets are woven and finished. This one has a second layer — small floral forms applied by hand onto the natural sisal surface, each one placed with the kind of patience that doesn't exist in a factory.
The base is undyed sisal, the color the fiber actually is when it comes out of the Machakos earth. The flowers sit on top of that quietness and make it speak.
It holds a plant. It also holds attention.
Comes with a plastic liner to protect the weave from moisture. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and keep from prolonged water exposure. Each basket is unique — the floral placement and natural tone will vary slightly, because no two are made by the same hands in the same moment.
